Privacy Policy
Last updated 8 September 2026
Famnavo helps families stay connected by sharing location with people they choose. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and the control you have over it.
Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address and, when you sign in with Google, the basic profile details Google returns (name, email address, profile picture).
- Family information — the family you belong to, your role in it and the members you are connected with.
- Location information — position, accuracy, movement state and battery level from devices where a family member has turned location sharing on.
- Safety activity — check-ins, safe-place arrivals and departures, SOS events, alerts and family messages.
- Device information — device name, operating system, app version and permission status, used to show whether a phone is reporting correctly.
How we use it
- Show family members on the map and in the family list.
- Send safe-place, proximity, battery, check-in and SOS alerts.
- Keep location history so you can replay a day.
- Keep accounts secure and prevent misuse.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use location data for advertising or profiling.
Google sign-in
When you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with Famnavo so we can create or match your account. We request no other Google data and we never access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or calendar.
Who can see your location
Only members of your own family, and only where sharing is enabled. Trusted members see a member’s location only when a family administrator grants access, and that access can be time-limited or revoked at any time. Famnavo never tracks anyone secretly — everyone can see who has access to their location.
Retention
Current positions are replaced as new ones arrive. Location history is kept so you can review recent days and can be cleared from Privacy settings. When an account or a family is deleted, its data is removed.
Your choices
- Turn location sharing off or set a tracking schedule at any time.
- Review and revoke trusted-member access.
- Request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account.
Children
Child accounts are created and administered by a family head or parent. Children always see clearly on their own home screen when location sharing is on.
